Why: MAKING FRIENDS IS HARD. He wants help for exploration and figuring out a way to get home again and for that, he needs back up. The guild helps him not have to make good enough friends first.

Kainé is skilled with wielding a pair of jagged looking twin swords and has natural enhanced speed and strength as well as being quite agile, because her Gestalt (original) was experimented on with Legion blood. She is capable of leaping several feet in a single bound. Her hand to hand fighting skills are extraordinary as well.
She is said to exist as neither Shade nor human by Grimoire Weiss. Due to being half Shade, she is also able to wield magic an ability as it is not something 'humans' (or Replicants) can do.
Some of her attacks are to shoot orbs and general blasts from her aura that look like a blue glyph mixture of lightning and white magic. She is also able to send arcs of magic along the ground to trip up her enemies.
She can also make a shield of her lightning magic around her. Her magic itself is blue and white, as opposed to the black and red of Grimoire Weiss, her own Shade, and the other Shades that most Maso-based magic is.
Another ability of hers is to sustain massive damage and still live even so much as being impaled by a giant spike. Unfortunately, if she is damaged to almost death, this also causes her to go berserk.
Kainé can hear the voices of Shades, thanks to Tyrann (which she had to convince herself they weren't 'human' and were only 'monsters' to be able to keep killing them.)
Her body heals fast, but if she were to die completely, Tyrann, the shade inhabiting her body, would gain full control over her. Why: Kainé needs a 'purpose' someone or something to protect. She needed the same thing in canon after she got her revenge on Hook, the Shade that murdered her grandma. Which ended up helping Nier cure/rescue his sister, Yonah. She is very loyal once she lets people in as well. Kainé isn't really 'goodie' she's definitely morally gray, but I'm sure she's talked to Yuri about it.
