It's not him I'm worried about hurting. If I... go berserk... if this, thing inside me takes over. He knows what to do... [kill her] But how many people will I hurt, will I kill before he can put me down?
[Another pause as she takes a breath and decides to try to think on his other question.]
Things like, being excited to see them and once you meet up, your heart skips a beat and your stomach does flip flops? Where you feel like there's butterflies in your gut and they know the exact things to do or say to make your face heat up with embarssment.
But you gotta deny it both to them and to yourself because how could someone possibly feel the same way about a monster?
[To be fair, Yuri, it all comes around in one loop for her. So Kainé takes a minute to think on how best to begin.

Although it's late early in the morning she's still fully dressed. She's sitting at her camp in the Summer segment with her knees up and her phone perched on top being held with one hand. She looks rather flustered but manages to calm herself.]

[She makes a face, annoyed at herself for being so obvious.]
Anyway, we've known each other since he was sixteen, and I was seventeen. Five of those years were... complicated.
[Being petrified counts as complicated, right?]
So, back then, he was cute. For a lanky teen who had yet to grow into his body. But he was sweet. Always looking out for and taking care of everyone else. He devoted everything to finding a cure for his sister's sickness, the Black Scrawl.
[Yuri may or may not have seen the rune-like lettering on Kainé's body as well. But she's not going to mention it now.]
He hated Shades. But he helped me, even knowing I was half Shade. Asked me to come along to find a cure for Yonah. All without judgement.
[She purses her lips.]
Some bad shit happened, and Yonah got kidnapped. I demanded to be petrified to keep this huge ass Shade locked in the basement of the library to save his village. Apparently five years passed before they found a way to bring me back.
[Here she realizes she's been talking for awhile and pauses to see if Yuri has any input.]
